Increasingly large catalogs and growing orders

Dayco is a global company that specialises in the design, manufacture and distribution of vehicle transmission systems and aftermarket services for a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, construction, agricultural and industrial machinery. Within the aftermarket division, Dayco has launched a project to develop a new B2B e-commerce, capable of effectively managing a centralised catalogue of around 33,000 products and a growing number of orders, reaching 2 million by 2022.

The solution

A new e-commerce with automated order flows

Dayco's new B2B e-commerce was realised by Cluster Reply in synergy with Sitecore, one of the main leaders in the field of Digital Experience platforms. In order to create a more interactive user experience and at the same time make it simple and immediate for users to acquire relevant information on the products of interest, the product catalog has been enriched with new formats and contents such as information sheets and video demos. Furthermore, thanks to the adoption of Sitecore's Content Management System (CMS), Dayco content editors can easily manage new content, the inclusion of new products in the catalog, and the related multilingual translations.

The order management process has been redesigned introducing automation logic: through Sitecore Order Cloud, Dayco is now able to dynamically define prices, discounts, sales conditions and shipping policies, effectively monitoring processes such as order processing and shipping.

HOW WE DID IT

A future-proof modular e-commerce

The implemented solution, based on Sitecore JSS, Sitecore Order Cloud and Microsoft Azure, relies on a modern MACH architecture (acronym for Microservices, API-First, Cloud-native SaaS and Headless), which gives the e-commerce portal greater flexibility, modularity and scalability.

For the design of the user experience and the creation of interactive layouts, Cluster Reply has used Prime React, an easy-to-use Open Source framework that offers a wide range of pre-configured components designed specifically for e-commerce.

The B2B eCommerce platform created in partnership with Cluster Reply and Sitecore allows us to optimise the time to market, making the order process faster. Our customers are better served and with shorter response times, giving them the possibility to independently check the status of orders and the details of each product at any time, from the technical characteristics to the prices applied, including any discounts.

The results

Fast, flexible and agile management

The solution adopted has allowed Dayco to significantly improve order management, making it more efficient and personalised, and allowing the company to accurately monitor the availability of goods in stock and the status of orders and shipments.
